Lucian Busoniu
Lucian Busoniu received the PhD degree cum laude from the Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, in 2009, and obtained his habilitation (conferring the right to independently supervise PhD students) in October 2015 from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He is a full professor with the Department of Automation of the TUCluj. His research interests include learning and planning methods for the optimal control of nonlinear systems, in particular online planning, reinforcement learning, and approximate dynamic programming, as well as robotics, multi-agent systems, and other topics. He was the recipient of the 2009 Andrew P. Sage Award for the best paper in the IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, and is associate editor for the journal Engineering Applications of AI.
